# Terms of use

Charge Line · last updated 3 November 2026

Charge Line is an iPhone app, with CarPlay, that plans electric-vehicle road trips in Australia. By using it you agree to these terms and to Apple's [Licensed Application End User License Agreement](https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), which applies to every app from the App Store.

## Plans are a guide

- Battery estimates, charging times and charger details come from models and from other services (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Open Charge Map, MET Norway and Tesla). They can be wrong or out of date, and a charger can be broken, busy or closed when you arrive. Weather forecasts can be wrong too, and plans that count them are only as good as the forecast: keep some charge in hand. Charge Line isn't a weather warning service; for warnings, follow the Bureau of Meteorology and your state's emergency services. Drivers' reports, such as when someone last charged and what they paid, are what other drivers said and aren't checked.
- You remain responsible for your vehicle, its route and its charge. Check that you have enough charge to reach a charger, follow road rules, and don't handle your iPhone while driving.
- Trips sent to a Tesla are suggestions; the vehicle's own trip planner may change the route.
- Use the Tesla features only with vehicles you own or are authorised to control.

## Your reports about chargers

- Report only what happened when you charged, or tried to. Reports are shared with other drivers as a summary for each charger.
- Charge Line may remove reports that look made up or wrong, and may refuse reports from a source that sends them.

## Premium

- Charge Line Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a Road Trip Pass. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, and Apple charges your Apple Account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A free trial, when offered, becomes a paid subscription at its end unless you cancel. You can cancel or change your subscription in the app (Settings › Manage subscription) or in your Apple Account settings.
- A Road Trip Pass gives 7 days of Premium and doesn't renew. A pass bought while another is running starts when the earlier one ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; you can request one in the app (Settings › Request a refund) or at [reportaproblem.apple.com](https://reportaproblem.apple.com).
- Premium has fair-use limits to prevent abuse. The app tells you if you reach one.
- Safety information, such as your battery on arrival and warnings about stops without a backup charger, is never limited to Premium.

## Changes and availability

- Features may change, and some depend on services from other companies that may change or stop, including Tesla's Fleet API and Google Maps Platform.
- These terms may be updated; the date above shows when they last changed.

## Your rights

Charge Line is provided as is, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
